Ms. Thompson recently retired from the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation, where she served as Senior Advisor to the Deputy Commissioner. In that role she provided support for the Governor’s Nuclear Energy Advisory Council. She also led a cross functional technical team with members of the Attorney General’s office to develop recommendations for the Commissioner addressing issues with the Department of Energy at Oak Ridge.
Prior to that, Ms. Thompson worked for DuPont and Westinghouse 15 years at the Savannah River Site in assignments that included environmental technical support, public affairs and managing production operations. She later worked as a consultant conducting environmental audits and establishing environmental management systems. She also led development of a customer care program for an Inc.500/5000 software company serving U.S. and international customers.
