1986
Bill Haskin began his term as a member of the College’s Foundation Board of Directors in July. Mr. Haskin works in sales at Patriot Timber Products. He and his wife, Elizabeth, reside in Sullivan’s Island, SC, and are stalwart supporters of the Charleston Athletic Fund.
1988
Richard Maclean began his term as a member of the College’s Foundation Board of Directors in July. Mr. Maclean is a Founding Partner of Frontier Growth, a growth-equity firm focusing primarily on managed IT and healthcare management software and services investment activities. He earned his MBA from the University of Virginia in 1995. He and his wife, Holly, reside in Charlotte, NC, and are stalwart supporters of the College, having established the Maclean Business “Ready to Work” Scholarship Fund.
1990
Anna Hutto joined Episcopal Relief & Development as its Chief External Relations Officer in September. She earned her Master of Divinity from Emory University. Ms. Hutto resides in Atlanta.
1991
Edwin McCain is a successful Recording Artist and Singer/Songwriter from Greenville, SC. In September, he was made an Honorary Deputy with the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office. Mr. McCain resides in Greenville, SC. He has been very generous in using his talent to support our alma mater, performing a benefit concert for the CofC Baseball Team a few years ago.
Edward Tuccio began his term as a member of the College’s Foundation Board of Directors in July. Mr. Tuccio is a retired Chief Operating Officer and Developer of real estate development companies based in Connecticut. Mr. Tuccio and his wife, Kimberly, reside in Ridgefield, CT, with their son, Brandon. The couple made an incredibly generous gift to the College recently to establish the Edward J. Tuccio ’91 Student Success Center. The groundbreaking for this facility will take place during Homecoming.
1992
Steve Agazzi was crowned champion of the Charleston City Senior Amateur in September after shooting a score of 72, 75, and 76 at the three-day tournament. Mr. Agazzi has served as the Golf Course Superintendent at the Charleston Municipal Course since 2020. He will represent the city in the SCGA Tournament of Champions in January. Mr. Agazzi and his wife, Jennifer, reside in Charleston, SC.
George Whitehurst joined Booz Allen Hamilton as a Lead Associate, Senior Proposal Manager, in October. He earned his MA in mass communication from the University of Georgia. Mr. Whitehurst and his wife, Dawn, reside in Fredericksburg, VA.
1993
Carl Blackstone began his term as a member of the College’s Foundation Board of Directors in July. Mr. Blackstone is President and CEO of the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce. He and his wife, Mary Heckard Blackstone ’96, reside in Columbia, SC, with their children.
Erica Henderson Brown began her term as a member of the College’s Foundation Board of Directors in July. Ms. Brown has worked in marketing and communications in both Canada and the United States. She is a current member of CofC’s Student Affairs Board of Advocates. She and her husband, Christopher, reside in Birmingham, MI, with their children. The couple are stalwart supporters of our alma mater, recently making gifts to the Alumni Greek Life Scholarships Fund, the Alumni Fund, the Student Affairs Excellence Fund, and the Willard A. “Billy” Silcox Endowed Alumni Scholarship Fund.
Andie Paradis Freeman joined the North Carolina Arts Council as its Content and Social Media Manager in August. Ms. Freeman and her husband, McGeath, reside in Raleigh, NC.
Jean Tani Momorella is a Physical Therapist at Aquacare in Milford, DE. She earned her MS in physical therapy at Shenandoah University and has been in practice for over 25 years. She resides in Lewes, DE, with her husband and daughters.
1994
Jonathan Hayes began his term as a member of the College’s Foundation Board of Directors in July. Mr. Hayes is an Attorney and Managing Partner at Goldstein Hayes and Lina, LLC. He earned his JD from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law in 2000. He and his wife, Tara, reside in Atlanta.

Alyssa Rakovich Fiumano started a new position as an AIF, Senior Vice President and Senior Relationship Strategist, at PNC Private Bank in Sarasota, FL. She married Paul Fiumano in March, and the couple resides in Bradenton, FL.
Marty Stockdale joined ALMACO Group as an After Sales Specialist in its Lifecycle Services Division in October. Mr. Stockdale and his wife, Christine, reside in Coral Springs, FL. The couple recently made a generous gift to the Charleston Athletic Fund in support of Men’s Basketball.
1997
Jim Johnson was recently named the 2024 South Carolina State Star by South Carolina Small Business Development Centers (SC SBDC). Mr. Johnson has served as a Senior Business Consultant with SC SBDC since 2015. He earned his MBA from Claflin University in 2008. Mr. Johnson and his wife, Summer Sparkman Johnson ’93, reside in Orangeburg, SC.
Henry Leventis joined Holland & Knight as a Partner in its Healthcare Regulatory & Enforcement Practice in October. He earned his JD from Washington and Lee University in 2003. He and his wife, Kelly, reside in Nashville, TN, with their children.
Kevin Price is the Global Head of Enterprise Asset Management at IFS, a cloud-based enterprise software company. He earned his MDiv in theological and ministerial studies from Erskine College in 2002. Mr. Price and his wife, Valerie Harper Price ’97, reside in Fountain Inn, SC, with their children.
Techa Smalls-Brown is an Adjunct Professor at the College of Charleston and the Director of the School of Education’s Sisters of Septima. Ms. Smalls-Brown earned her MEd in curriculum and instruction from Concordia University in 2020. She is currently pursuing her PhD from Antioch University. Ms. Smalls-Brown resides in North Charleston, SC, with her husband, Michael. She recently made a gift to CofC’s School of Education Dean’s Excellence Fund.

Stephanie Alexander published her first novel, Mean Low Water, through Red Adept Publishing in August. Ms. Alexander is a Family Law Attorney at Theos Law Firm. She earned her MA in sociology and social policy from American University in 2002 and her JD from the Charleston School of Law in 2017. Ms. Alexander and her husband, Jeffrey, reside in Daniel Island, SC.
Heather Trantham Davidson joined Boehringer Ingelheim as its Director, Medical Affairs Strategy, in April. She earned her PhD in physiology and neuroscience from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2005. Dr. Davidson and her husband, Brian Davidson ’99, reside in Charleston, SC, with their sons, James, Edward, and Andrew.
Scott Russell joined Concentric Power Services as a Territory Sales Manager in September. Mr. Russell resides in Duluth, GA.
2002
Edward Leonard is the Founder and Music Director of The Chamber Orchestra of Pittsburgh. Mr. Leonard studied with Juan Pablo Izquierdo at Carnegie Mellon University, where he earned his MA in orchestral conducting in 2008.
2004
Tanja Betzler-Guerra is a Chief Human Resources Officer at Alpha Omega Integration. She and her husband, Dennis, reside in Ashburn, VA, with their daughters, Andrea and Christina. Ms. Betzler-Guerra recently made a gift to CofC’s International Studies Program Fund.

Sarah Neely Lanier is a District Court Judge within the North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts. She was recently elected to the NC District Court Judges Association Board of Governors. Judge Lanier and her husband reside in Asheboro, NC, with their son, Alex. She recently made a gift to support CofC’s Karen Burroughs Jones ’74 Alumni Scholarship Fund.
Kelly Jenerette Shaw was named the Hard Rock Cafe of Myrtle Beach Administrator of the Month in September. Ms. Shaw is the Principal of Loris Middle School. She and her husband, Damien, reside in Loris, SC, with their three children.
Beth Gross Thornton was promoted to Director of Operations and Project Management at Curimeta, Inc. She earned her MS in exercise science at Old Dominion University in 2007. Ms. Thornton and her husband, Tim, reside in Norfolk, VA.

Sarah Exell began her term as a Fellow on the College’s Foundation Board of Directors in July. Ms. Exell is a Certified Financial Planner and Wealth Management Advisor with Merrill Lynch Wealth Management. She currently serves on CofC’s Student Affairs Board of Advocates. She and her husband, Eric, reside in Johns Island, SC, are generous supporters of the CofC Fund.
Joel Fensch is a Supply Chain Analytics Consultant and the Owner of LogikFuel, a consulting company focused on enabling business intelligence for supply chain, logistics, and manufacturing operations. Mr. Fensch resides in Fort Mill, SC.
Janet Goodman married Major Murphy ’07 (MS ’13) in June 2023, and the couple resides in Bonneau, SC.
2008
Kathryn Pedings-Behling (MS ’12) is an Instructor in the College’s Department of Mathematics. She is currently pursuing her EdD in educational practice and innovation with a concentration in STEM education from the University of South Carolina. She plans to graduate in December 2025. Ms. Pedings-Behling resides in Charleston, SC, with her three children and recently supported CofC’s School of Engineering, Computing, and Mathematics Dean’s Excellence Fund.

Kurtis Miller (MA) has been promoted to Assistant Dean of the Humanities Division at Tusculum University. Dr. Miller earned his PhD in communication from Purdue University. He resides in Greeneville, TN.
Nate Newberry is a Trade Show Coordinator at AGRU America in Georgetown, SC. Mr. Newberry and his wife, Elizabeth, celebrated the birth of their daughter, Dani, in April. The Newberry family resides in Surfside Beach, SC.
Stacy Isaacs Robinson was promoted to Director of Accounting at GPM Investments, LLC, in September. She and her husband, Robbie, reside in Johns Island, SC.
2010
Kelly Tomlinson Caekaert has been promoted to Associate Director at Cognizant. She earned her MS in geospatial information science and technology from North Carolina State University in 2012 and her PhD in geospatial information sciences from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2019. Dr. Caekaert resides in Dallas.
Rose Christ has been named to City & State’s inaugural Arts & Cultural Power 100 list. Ms. Christ is the Managing Director and New York Practice Co-Chair of Cozen O’Connor Public Strategies. She and her wife, Heather, reside in Elmsford, NY, with their son, Walter.
Barnwell Fishburne is an Attorney and the Owner of Fishburne Law Office. The firm, which serves the South Carolina Lowcountry, opened earlier this year. Mr. Fishburne earned his JD from the Charleston School of Law in 2014. He resides in Charleston, SC, with his wife, Alexis McHarg Fishburne ’16.
Matthew Irwin (MPA) has been promoted to Business Development Executive at Messer Construction Co. Mr. Irwin resides in Greenville, SC.
Joseph Kampman has joined the City of Phoenix as its IT Project Manager.
Porsha Malin was promoted to Senior Scrum Master at Wells Fargo in August. Ms. Malin resides in Charlotte, NC, and recently made a gift to CofC’s Alumni Association Fund.
Sam Tano published her first novel, In the Valley, A Shadow, in August. She describes the book as an action-packed sci-fi western tale of love, identity, and revenge. Ms. Tano and her wife, Kelly, reside in Cranston, RI.

Ashley Alderman joined Speaksage as a Customer Success Manager in September. Ms. Alderman resides in Durham, NC.
Kenzie Rosen-Stone has been promoted to Artistic Director at The Arts HUB. She and her husband, Taylor Pratt-Thomas ’11, reside in Lafayette, CO, with their two daughters, Skylar and River.
2012
Alyssa Aitken Banholzer joined Quince as an Account Executive, Corporate Gifts, in September. Ms. Banholzer married Chris Banholzer ’13 in 2021, and the couple celebrated the birth of their son, Max, in 2022. The family resides in Marstons Mills, MA, and are fervent supporters of CofC’s Sailing Excellence Fund.
Heather Bybee is a Visual Merchandiser at Bloomingdale’s. Ms. Bybee resides in New York City.
Emily Gallo is the Chief of Staff at the South Carolina State Museum. She was included in Columbia Business Monthly’s list of Best and Brightest Columbia 2024. Ms. Gallo resides in Columbia, SC.
Ellis McNeely has joined Lee & Associates Greenville/Spartanburg as Commercial Real Estate Broker. Mr. McNeely resides in Greenville, SC.
Ann-Marie Quinn has joined the India Meteorological Department as a Philanthropy Writer. Ms. Quinn earned her MA in international studies and diplomacy with a concentration in North African studies from Al Akhawayn University in 2017. She and her husband, José, reside in Rolle, Switzerland.
Claire Shields Sugg and her husband, Adam, started a new franchise, SYNERGY HomeCare of Kinston, in September. Ms. Sugg earned her MA in American fine and decorative art from Sotheby’s Institute of Art in 2013. The couple resides in La Grange, NC.

Jeff Aschieris and his wife, Madeline, welcomed their first child, Sloane, to the family in September. Mr. Aschieris earned his MBA from the University of Southern California in May. He is the Vice President, Client Advisor, at the Whittier Trust Company, where he has worked since 2018. The family of three resides in Costa Mesa, CA, and recently made a generous gift to the Charleston Athletic Fund.
Katye Beaver was promoted to Initial License Trainee and Senior Reactor Operator at Constellation in August. She resides in Baltimore.
Jenny Bamond Gregory has been promoted to Director of Marketplace Services at SeatGeek. She and her husband, Michael, reside in Mount Pleasant, SC.
Susan Luna-Hazlewood (MPA) began her term as a Fellow on the College’s Foundation Board of Directors in July. Ms. Luna-Hazlewood is the Director of the Crawford Alumni Center at Tennessee Technological University. She and her husband, Michael, reside in Cookeville, TN, and recently supported CofC’s MPA Fund.
Bennett May has joined Foster Garvey as an Associate in the firm’s Business & Corporate Finance practice. He earned his JD from the University of Florida College of Law in 2024. Mr. May resides in Portland, OR.

John Curtis is a Systems Security Engineer in the College’s Information Technology department. He earned his JD from the Charleston School of Law earlier this year. Mr. Curtis resides in Charleston, SC, and is a stalwart supporter of CofC’s Public Safety Campus-Policing Fund.
Dylan Judson joined Lucra Sports as an Enterprise Account Executive in October. Mr. Judson resides in San Francisco, CA.
Jocelyn Moratzka is a Committees and CLE Program Coordinator for The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. She and her husband, Zachary, reside in Herndon, VA.
Annie Olimpi has been promoted to Senior Underwriter at PURE Insurance. Ms. Olimpi resides in Charleston, SC.
Rachel Pirkkala Woods joined the College of Charleston’s Division of Institutional Advancement as its Data Integrity Specialist in October. She and her husband, Joshua, reside in Charleston, SC. Ms. Woods recently made a gift to CofC’s Alumni Association Fund.
Kady Preston began her term as a Fellow on the College’s Foundation Board of Directors in July. Ms. Preston earned her MA in public school building leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University. She resides in Charleston, SC.

Marke DeCristoforo married Sam Najarian ’18 at St. Michael’s Church in Charleston, SC, in October. Mr. DeCristoforo is a Lobbyist for the Conservation Voters of South Carolina. The newlyweds reside in Charleston, SC.
Leah Theoharidis Medeiros joined Cereza Coffee as its Quality Control Manager in October. Ms. Medeiros resides in Somerville, MA.
Victoria Thompson began her term as a Fellow on the College’s Foundation Board of Directors in July. Ms. Thompson is an Education Strategist with CDW, an Adjunct Professor at Lake-Sumter State College, and an Instructional Designer at EduSpark. She earned her MS in curriculum and instruction from Western Governors University in 2018. Ms. Thompson resides in Winter Garden, FL, with her spouse, Kourtney, with whom she started the Thompson Johnson Scholarship for Teacher Education at the College.
Tatiana Hoover Waldon joined Articularis Healthcare Group, Inc., as a Physician Assistant in September. Ms. Waldon earned her MS in physician assistant studies from the University of South Carolina in August. She and her husband, Huey Waldon ’12, reside in Charleston, SC.

Nicole Anderson Brinkmann is a Property Manager with Aspen Square Management. She and her husband, Daniel Brinkmann ’16, celebrated the birth of their son, Barrett, in 2023. The family resides in Bluffton, SC.
Hannah Gosney was promoted to Assistant Director, Alumni Events and Programs, at Columbia University in October.
Rose Hemphill and her husband, Ben, celebrated the birth of their son, August, in October. The family of three resides in Bellevue, KY.
Wyman King joined BioAge Labs as a Corporate Controller in October. He earned his MPA in accounting at the University of Texas at Austin in 2017. Mr. King and his wife, Olivia, reside in Greensboro, NC.
Kendall Sorem married Connor DeMars in Spring Island, SC, in October. Ms. Sorem is a Senior Consultant at Sg2. She earned her MHA from the University of Minnesota in 2018. The newlyweds reside in Coppell, TX.
Ryan Spraker was promoted to Senior Associate Attorney at Husch Blackwell, LLP in September. Mr. Spraker earned his JD from the George Washington University Law School in 2019. In April, he was recognized by Thomson Reuters’ Washington, D.C., Super Lawyers as a Rising Star in Schools and Education Law. Mr. Spraker serves on the CofC Alumni Association Board of Directors, and he and his wife, Nickole, reside in Arlington, VA. The couple recently made gifts to CofC’s Alumni Association Fund and the School of Humanities & Social Sciences Dean’s Excellence Fund.

Mike Gelber has joined Impiricus as its Senior Vice President, Product. He completed a computer programming certificate program at Columbia University in 2020. Mr. Gelber resides in Summit, NJ, and recently made gifts to CofC’s Kerrigan Investment Program Support Fund and Alumni Association Fund.
Will Hardison is a Professional Practice Program Coordinator for the South Carolina Department of Public Health. Mr. Hardison resides in Columbia, SC.
Clay Phillips was named the Chief Operating Officer of BCC-USA in September. Mr. Phillips resides in Narberth, PA.
Rachel Canady Santos was promoted to the Director of Marketing at Winkler Group in September. She and her husband, Pedro, reside in Ladson, SC.
Zachary Zona was promoted to Assistant Director of Residences at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in October. Mr. Zona resides in Franklin Lakes, NJ.

Kelsey Butcher (MA ’20) was promoted to Manager, Video Partnerships, at Initiative in October. Ms. Butcher resides in New York City.
Joe Chealey is a Professional Basketball Player with Juventus Utena of the Lithuanian Basketball League in Utena, Lithuania.
Conor Johnston earned his MS in physician assistant studies from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2018. Mr. Johnston resides in Charleston, SC, and recently made a gift to CofC’s EMS Fund.

Claire Blanton will enroll at Georgetown University this January to pursue her MA in international business and policy. Ms. Blanton is the Special Advisor for Special Projects and Strategic Communications within the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative. She resides in Washington, D.C.
Chandler Martell joined Arly as a Sales Development Representative in September. He resides in Charleston, SC, and recently made a gift to the Charleston Athletic Fund and the Alumni Association Fund.
Rose Stoia joined CBRE’s Bethesda, MD, office as a Client Services Coordinator in October.

Kangkang Kovacs (MFA) is an adjunct faculty member in the College’s Department of English. Dr. Kovacs earned her PhD in physics from the University of Virginia in 2010. Her debut novel, Nothing to My Name, is under contract with Viking Books at Penguin & Random House and Bloomsbury Publishing, UK. It is scheduled to be published in 2026. She resides in Mount Pleasant, SC.

Mr. Fishburne earned his JD from the Charleston School of Law in 2014. He resides in Charleston, SC, with his wife, Alexis McHarg Fishburne ’16.
- Susan Luna-Hazlewood ’13 (MPA) began her term as a Fellow on the College’s Foundation Board of Directors in July. Ms. Luna-Hazlewood is the Director of the Crawford Alumni Center at Tennessee Technological University. She and her husband, Michael, reside in Cookeville, TN, and recently supported CofC’s MPA Fund.
- Ryan Spraker ’16was promoted to Senior Associate Attorney at Husch Blackwell, LLP in September. Mr. Spraker earned his JD from the George Washington University Law School in 2019. In April, he was recognized by Thomson Reuters’ Washington, D.C., Super Lawyers as a Rising Star in Schools and Education Law. Mr. Spraker serves on the CofC Alumni Association Board of Directors, and he and his wife, Nickole, reside in Arlington, VA. The couple recently made gifts to CofC’s Alumni Association Fund and the School of Humanities & Social Sciences Dean’s Excellence Fund.
- Claire Blanton ’22 will enroll at Georgetown University this January to pursue her MA in international business and policy. Ms. Blanton is the Special Advisor for Special Projects and Strategic Communications within the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative. She resides in Washington, D.C.
- John Michael ’24 has joined MacKenzie Commercial Real Estate Services as a Real Estate Advisor. Mr. Michael resides in Bel Air, MD, and recently made a gift to CofC’s Alumni Association Fund.
