September 2024

1969

Pete Pillow was named 2024 Rotarian of the Year by the Rotary Club of Columbia-Patuxent in Howard County, MD. He was also named a Pal Harris Fellow Plus-2 by the Rotary International Foundation. Mr. Pillow retired after a career in school public relations and resides in Columbia, MD, with his wife, Anne. He recently made a gift to support CofC’s Alumni Greek Life Scholarships Fund.

1984

Beth Boone has been named the recipient of the United States Artists’ 2024 Berresford Prize. The prize is given annually to a cultural practitioner who demonstrates a continued commitment to transforming the support structures for artists in their communities. Ms. Boone earned her MFA in theater arts from Brandeis University. She resides in Miami Shores, FL.

1985

Sharon Hunt is a Supervisory Staff Chaplain with Atrium Health. Rev. Hunt earned her MEd with an emphasis in students with behavior disorders from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 1996. She later obtained her MDiv from the Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in 2013. Rev. Hunt resides in Charlotte, NC.

1986

Christina Speight Perry is the President of Perry Global Marketing, Inc. Ms. Perry is an entrepreneur, international trainer, best-selling co-author, and success coach. She and her husband, Todd, reside in High Point, NC.

1987

Sally Davis (MPA ’92) joined Arlington Public Schools as a Special Education Teacher in August. Ms. Davis earned her MEd in special education and teaching from the University of Virginia in 2021. She resides in Alexandria, VA, and is a stalwart supporter of the CofC Fund.

Brian Drumheller retired in August after spending 37 years in the quality assurance profession. He most recently served as Vice President, Quality Assurance, at Femasys Inc. Mr. Drumheller and his wife, Burny Kearney Drumheller ’85, reside in Covington, GA, and are steadfast supporters of the College, recently making gifts to the Alumni Greek Life Scholarships Fund and the CofC Fund.

1988

Mark Richards is the Founder and CEO of Alphidia, LLC, a product development and early market manufacturing company based in Charleston, SC. Mr. Richards has served on the College’s Board of Advisors for its School of Entrepreneurship since 2013. He and his wife, Susanne, reside in Charleston, SC. Mr. Richards is a passionate supporter of CofC’s Center for Entrepreneurship and School of Business Dean’s Excellence Funds.

1991

Jim Hinkle joined NovoDynamics, Inc. as the Senior Vice President of Sales in August. Mr. Hinkle earned his MHA from the Medical University of South Carolina. He resides in Mount Pleasant, SC.

Jean Vinel joined Woodville-Tompkins Technical and Career High School as a Teacher in August. Mr. Vinel resides in Bluffton, SC, with his wife, Andrea.

1992

Christa Smith Gogstad is a Bookstore and Resource Center Associate at The King Center for Nonviolent Social Change in Atlanta. Ms. Gogstad was recently appointed to the center’s Strategic Planning Committee. She and her husband, Eric, reside in Decatur, GA.

1993

Cordelia Jenkins has been named the Interim Assistant Superintendent of Academics & Student Affairs for the Charleston County School District. Dr. Jenkins earned her MEd in educational leadership and her EdS in educational superintendency from The Citadel. She later earned her PhD in education from Capella University. Dr. Jenkins resides in Walterboro, SC.

1994

Tricia Arnold Howard has been named the Vice President of Advanced Practice Services at ExperCARE Health. Ms. Howard earned her MHS from the Medical University of South Carolina. She is a current doctoral candidate in the Northern Arizona University’s Doctor of Medical Science program. Ms. Howard and her husband, Chat, reside in Savannah, GA. The couple recently made a gift to support the CofC Fund.

1995

Kellie Bollinger Bickenbach was promoted to Executive Vice President, Chief Operational Risk Officer, with First Citizens Bank in May. Ms. Bickenbach earned her MBA from The Citadel in 1998. She and her husband reside in Potomac, MD.

Chad Smith was promoted to Vice President of Operations, Georgia & Tennessee, at ABA Centers of America in April. He and his wife, Catherine Kirkpatrick Smith ’94, reside in Alpharetta, GA.

Rona Stuart has been named one of five finalists for Richland School District Two’s 2024-25 District Teacher of the Year. Ms. Stuart is a Social Studies Teacher at Spring Valley High School. She also spends evenings teaching at the W.R. Rogers Center for Adult, Technology and Continuing Education. Ms. Stuart earned her MA in teaching, secondary education, and social studies from the University of South Carolina. She is currently pursuing her EdD from Walden University.

1996

Patrick Manning is a Database Administrator for The Citadel Foundation. He and his wife, Mary Margaret, reside in Charleston, SC. Mr. Manning recently made a gift to the CofC Fund.

Myra Whittemore is an Adjunct Faculty Member in the College of Charleston’s Department of Communication and a Faculty Member in Trident Technical College’s Department of English, Speech, and Journalism. Ms. Whittemore earned her MA in speech communication and rhetoric from Clemson University in 2004. She resides in Charleston, SC.

1997

Jessica Clancy Crowson is a Managing Member of the newly formed Crowson Walker Law Firm. Located in Columbia, SC, the firm focuses on litigation and transactional law. Ms. Crowson earned her JD from Vanderbilt University Law School in 2000. She resides in Lexington, SC, with her husband, Jim, and three children.

Pat George is the Executive Director at Wells Fargo Wealth & Investment Management. He and his wife, Jennifer, reside in Mount Pleasant, SC. Mr. George is a stalwart supporter of the Charleston Athletic Fund.

1998

Warren Cobb joined the University of South Carolina Beaufort as a Research & Instruction Librarian in August. Mr. Cobb earned his MLIS from the University of South Carolina in 2020. He resides in Hilton Head Island, SC.

Janine McCabe received the Excellence in Theatre Design and Technology Award from the South Carolina Theatre Association in July. Ms. McCabe is the Artistic Director of CofC Stages and an Associate Professor of Theatre at the College. She earned her MFA in costume design from the University of Virginia in 2002. Ms. McCabe resides in North Charleston, SC, and is a stalwart supporter of CofC’s Department of Theatre and Dance Fund.

1999

Rosheene Adams is the Founder and Owner of DataRose Solutions LLC, an independent consulting company specializing in data management, governance, and analysis. Ms. Adams earned her MBA from Winthrop University, and she resides in Charlotte, NC, with her daughter, Roechma. She is the Senior Advisor to the Charlotte CofC Club. Ms. Adams recently made a gift to CofC’s School of Business Dean’s Excellence Fund and the CofC Fund.

2000

April Orvin Borkman is the Program Manager for the Medical University of South Carolina’s Division of Infectious Diseases. Ms. Borkman earned her MA in clinical counseling from The Citadel in 2006. She and her husband, Ray Borkman ’99, reside in North Charleston, SC. The couple recently made a generous gift to the Charleston Athletic Fund.

Ryan Holmes Small is a School Counselor at James Island Charter High School. Ms. Small earned her MEd in secondary counseling from The Citadel in 2019. She and her husband, Drew, reside in Charleston, SC, with their children.

2001

Zak Fanberg joined Higginbotham Insurance as its Managing Director in April. Mr. Fanberg and his wife, Sarah Taylor Fanberg ’01, reside in Bay St. Louis, MS.

Ashleigh Freer Parr is the Director of Campus Services at the College of Charleston. Ms. Parr and her husband, Scott Parr ’00, reside in Charleston, SC, with their children.

Christi Wickliffe-Bessinger is the new Branch Office Administrator at Edward Jones in Murrells Inlet, SC. She and her husband, John, reside in Surfside Beach, SC.

2002

Meredith Clark is the Director of Professional Learning at the Prosper Independent School District. Dr. Clark earned her MA and PhD in Hispanic literature from the University of Texas at Austin. She resides in Dallas, TX.

Allison Hudson Mingle is the Owner of Rise Yoga. In 2017, she founded Will’s Place Recovery Resource Center, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting individuals and families battling addiction in Stanly County, NC, and its surrounding counties. Ms. Mingle resides in Albemarle, NC, with her husband and two children.

2003

Melissa Buchanan is a Curator for the National Park Service. She recently celebrated obtaining her CPM certification from the State of South Carolina. Ms. Buchanan earned her MS in public/applied history from the University of West Georgia in 2008. She resides in Goose Creek, SC.

Leslie Burdett Hart (MS) is an Associate Professor of Public Health at the College of Charleston. Dr. Hart earned her PhD in epidemiology from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2011. Dr. Hart resides in Daniel Island, SC, and recently made a gift to CofC’s School of Health Sciences Dean’s Excellence Fund.

Chad Lykins is a Candidate for Portland, OR City Council, District 4. Dr. Lykins is the Founder of Rose City Chess, a small business that provides after-school chess programs for children across Oregon. He earned his MA in philosophy and PhD in leadership and policy studies in 2009, both from Vanderbilt University. Dr. Lykins resides in Portland, OR.

Kristen Hess Wurster is the Deputy Clerk of Council for Charleston County Government. She and her husband, Doug Wurster ’11 (MPA), reside in Charleston, SC. The couple recently made a gift to support CofC’s Graduate School Dean’s Excellence Fund.

2004

Brandon Cochran is a Principal Gifts Officer for the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business. Mr. Cochran earned his MBA from Charleston Southern University in 2010. He and his wife, Cara, reside in Easley, SC, with their children. Mr. Cochran recently made gifts to the CofC Fund and the Alumni Association Fund.

Melissa Venters McCants joined the Berkeley County School District as its MTSS Coordinator in August. Ms. McCants earned her MA in teaching social studies from Teachers College, Columbia University in 2009. She earned her MEd in educational leadership and administration from the University of South Carolina four years later. Ms. McCants and her husband, Stephen, reside in Charleston, SC.

Erica Rovner Rabhan is the Southeast Regional Philanthropy Officer for the Harold Grinspoon Foundation. She and her husband, Michael Rabhan ’03, reside in Charleston, SC, with their children. The Rabhan family are steadfast supporters of CofC’s Jewish Student Life Program Fund and the Charleston Athletic Fund.

2005

Matt Yousefzadeh is an Assistant Professor at the Columbia University Medical Center. Dr. Yousefzadeh earned his MS in cytology and bioscience from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2008 and his PhD in epigenetics and molecular carcinogenesis from the University of Texas in 2015. Dr. Yousefzadeh resides in New York City and recently made gifts to CofC’s Alumni Fund and Alumni Association Fund.

2006

Dan Mroz joined Synovus as its Senior Vice President, Relationship Manager, in August. Mr. Mroz earned his executive certification in business strategy from the Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management in 2023. He and his wife, Erica, reside in Daniel Island, SC.

Alexis Schade is a Department of Defense Consultant for the Logistics Management Institute. She earned her MEd in adult education from Northcentral University, now National University, in 2015. Ms. Schade resides in Cary, NC, and has plans to return to the Charleston, SC, area next May.

2007

Heather Jashienski is the Assistant Director of Human Resources for Benefits & Payroll at the Porter-Gaud School. Ms. Jashienski earned her MS in international human resource management from the University of Stirling in Stirling, Scotland, in 2016. She resides in Johns Island, SC, and recently made a gift to support CofC’s Archaeology Program.

Ryan Moncman joined Holy Cross Health in Fort Lauderdale, FL, in August. Dr. Moncman is a trained neurosurgeon. He earned his DO from the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine, then completed a spine surgery fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania and a neurosurgical residency at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Moncman and his wife, Tara, married in 2019.

2008

Kate Greenburg Gilliom joined Advanced Technology International as a Subcontracts Administrator in August. Dr. Gilliom obtained her MA in romance languages and literatures in 2010 and her PhD in romance languages and literatures in 2016, both from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She and her husband reside in Daniel Island, SC.

Monica Scott is a Case Manager for Molina Healthcare. Ms. Scott resides in Ladson, SC, with her son, Dwight.

Sam Tyson is a Creative Marketing Specialist for Siemens Digital Industries Software. Mr. Tyson resides in Charleston, SC.

2009

Elena Rodriguez became the Interim Head of Research and Instruction Services at the College of Charleston in August. She earned her MLIS degree from Western University in 2013. Ms. Rodriguez resides in Mount Pleasant, SC, and recently made a gift to CofC’s History Department Fund.

2012

Elaine Alford is a Grade 3 Teacher at the American School of Barcelona. Ms. Alford is pursuing her MEd in teaching and learning from the University of Bath with plans to graduate in December. She married David Canepa Talamas in July, and the couple resides in Barcelona, Spain.

Casey Darling Kniffin (MS) is the Conservation Policy Director for the Florida Wildlife Federation. Ms. Kniffin resides in Palm Beach Gardens, FL.

2013

Hannah Corri Kamba is a Commercial Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker Commercial Atlantic. Ms. Kamba and her husband, Chris, reside in Charleston, SC.

2014

Demetrius Doctor was named the Director of the Charleston Jazz Academy in July. Mr. Doctor earned his MA in music technology from Coastal Carolina University. He resides in North Charleston with his wife, Corinthian, and their three children, Alani, Dawson, and Weston.

2015

Travis Green joined the Medical University of South Carolina as an Associate Professor in August. Dr. Green earned his PharmD in 2017 and his PhD in pharmacology and toxicology in 2019, both from Georgetown University. Dr. Green resides in Colorado Springs, CO.

Matt Griffin is a new Academic Advisor within the College’s Academic Advising and Planning Center. Mr. Griffin spent the last seven years teaching in Sapporo, Japan.

Emily Knopf King joined SentinelOne as a GTM Recruiter in August. She married Graham King in October 2023, and the couple resides in Savannah, GA.

Audrey Marhoefer is a Curator for Sofar Sounds Charleston, a music events startup company with locations across the globe. Ms. Marhoefer resides in Charleston, SC.

Mary Cathryne Seymour is a Social Media Specialist for Menlo Technical Consulting. Ms. Seymour resides in Charlotte, NC.

2016

Harrison Bowne and his wife, Hannah, celebrated the birth of their daughter, Millen, in January. The couple married in 2021, and the family of three resides in Charleston, SC. Mr. Bowne recently made a generous gift to support the Charleston Athletic Fund.

Julia Duda is the Principal IT Change Manager at Blackbaud. She earned her MPS in technology management from Georgetown University in May. Ms. Duda resides in Charleston, SC.

Patrick Mitchell has been promoted to Principal Strategist, Travel Marketing, with Capital One. Mr. Mitchell resides in New York City.

Bailey Pierson Petrucelli is a Marketing Consultant and the Founder of Funct’ Med Marketing. She is pursuing her MPH from American Public University with plans to graduate in 2025. Ms. Petrucelli and her husband, Gino, reside in Camp Hill, PA, with their sons, Emmett and Ira.

2017

Gabi Kaye is an Intelligence Professional with Booz Allen Hamilton. Ms. Kaye earned her MA in national security policy from Georgetown University in May. She resides in Springfield, VA.

Clay Koch joined Wagner Wealth Management, LLC as a Wealth Advisor in June. He and his wife, Lauren Hydrick Koch ’15, reside in Greenville, SC.

2018

Jane Feddersen is a new Associate with NetApp’s Managed Services Center of Excellence. Ms. Feddersen resides in San Diego and recently made a gift to the Charleston Athletic Fund’s Volleyball Fund.

Caroline Graham was promoted to Digital Marketing Analyst at Salem Media Group in August. Ms. Graham resides in Alpharetta, GA.

Audrey Owensby Jakobsen is a Sales and Customer Support Specialist for ExamCookie ApS, a software company based in Denmark. She and her husband, Morten, reside in Aalborg, Denmark.

Bridget Snydstrup is a new Associate with Frilot LLC. She earned her JD from Tulane University Law School in April. Ms. Snydstrup resides in New Orleans, LA.

Macie White Tumblin is a Registered Nurse with Roper St. Francis Healthcare. She and her husband, Justin, married in 2016. The couple celebrated the birth of their son, Jesse, in 2020. The Tumblin family resides in Ridgeville, SC.

2019

Trey Catanzaro has joined Sherrard Roe Voigt & Harbison as an Associate in its corporate, real estate, and commercial lending practices. Mr. Catanzaro earned his JD from Ohio State University in 2022. He resides in Nashville, TN.

Kacey Clayton-Stiglbauer is a doctoral student studying health behavior at the University of North Carolina Gillings School of Global Public Health with plans to graduate in 2028. Ms. Clayton-Stiglbauer earned her MS in clinical research from Campbell University in 2022. She married Grayson Stiglbauer ’19 in 2019, and the couple resides in Cary, NC.

Carter Haley was promoted to Senior Technical Consultant at Salesforce in August. Mr. Haley resides in New York City.

Ceili Hesselgrave is a Flyman for Disney’s The Lion King Rafiki Tour. Ms. Hesselgrave resides in Simpsonville, SC, and recently made a generous gift to CofC’s Department of Theatre and Dance.

Fiona McDonald is a new Talent Acquisition Specialist for AvePoint, an independent software company based in Jersey City, NJ.

Devin McSween is an Editing Fellow for wikiHow. Ms. McSween resides in Charleston, SC.

2020

Isabella Agostino joined Northeastern University as a Global Student Success Coordinator in July. She is pursuing her MA in international and comparative education from the School for International Training Graduate Institute.

Lauren Croghan has returned to her alma mater, Bishop England High School, to teach in the school’s Options Program. Ms. Croghan resides in Charleston, SC, and recently made a gift to support the Charleston Athletic Fund.

Don Merckle is a professional musician, singer, and songwriter. His fourth solo album, SAME DEVIL NEW SKIN, will be released on September 20 on all streaming platforms. Mr. Merckle also works at the College as an Inventory Control Specialist. He resides in Goose Creek, SC.

Morgan Moran has been promoted to Facilities Manager of the Truist Center for JLL’s Truist Bank Account. Ms. Moran resides in Charlotte, NC.

2021

Dylan Burnell is a Public Affairs Specialist for the US Army Corps of Engineers. Mr. Burnell spent more than a month handling media relations at the site of the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse in Baltimore in March and April. He resides in Charleston, SC.

Stefanie Elling joined Bright MLS as a Salesforce Developer in August. Ms. Elling resides in Charleston, SC.

Jordan Gordon (MBA ’23) joined Grand Bohemian Hotel Charleston as its Accountant in July. He and his wife, Louise, reside in Charleston, SC. Mr. Gordon recently made gifts in support of CofC’s MBA Operating Fund, the School of Business MBA Scholarship Fund, and the Alumni Association Fund.

Tyler Futrell has joined the Boston College Men’s Basketball program as the Director of Basketball Operations. He previously served as a Graduate Assistant for the Boston College Men’s team before earning his MS in sports administration in 2022. Mr. Futrell resides in Boston and recently made a gift to support CofC’s Women’s Golf Fund.

2022

Jah’Mar Coakley is the Assistant Director of HR Operations at Carolina Performing Arts in Chapel Hill, NC.

Lily D’Ostilio was promoted to Junior Account Executive at Pop! Promos in August. Ms. D’Ostilio resides in Philadelphia.

Dylan Finn published his first book, Growth: Flipping the Script on My Life-Changing Moment, earlier this year. The memoir recounts Mr. Finn’s life-altering experience after suffering a traumatic brain injury during a fall. He spent two weeks in a coma and was given a slim chance to survive. Mr. Finn works as an Inside Sales Representative for Magna Legal Services. He resides in Charleston, SC.

Ally Jandes joined B2 Communications as a Communications Specialist in June. Ms. Jandes resides in Cincinnati, OH.

Bella Kitsos joined the College’s Biology Department as an Administrative Assistant in July. Ms. Kitsos resides in Charleston, SC, and recently made a gift to CofC’s Alumni Association Fund.

Laura Latimer is a Sales Assistant at The Dewberry Charleston. Ms. Latimer resides in Charleston, SC, and recently made a gift to CofC’s Alumni Association Fund.

2023

Nicole Birnbaum is the Founder of FlipRings, a company that manufactures reversible silicone rubber rings to fit all kinds of moods. Since FlipRings was founded in 2020, Ms. Birnbaum’s company has sold more than 150,000 rings and now offers more than 150 different styles. In August, she decided to sell the company and is looking forward to her next opportunity. Ms. Birnbaum resides in Wyckoff, NJ, and recently made a gift to support CofC’s Alumni Association Fund.

Olivia Blankenship joined Carolina One Real Estate Services as a Realtor in August. Ms. Blankenship resides in Charleston, SC, and recently made gifts to CofC’s Alumni Association Fund.

MacKenzie Kral is a new Science Teacher at Maritime Academy Charter School in Philadelphia.

Will Roebuck joined the College’s Center for Excellence in Peer Education as its Associate Director in June. Mr. Roebuck resides in Charleston, SC, and recently made a gift to support CofC’s German Program Fund.

Erin Walsh joined Monumental Sports & Entertainment as an Account Executive, Inside Sales, in June. Ms. Walsh resides in Washington, D.C., and recently made a gift to CofC’s Alumni Association Fund.

2024

Latherial Calbert is pursuing his MS in statistics from the College with plans to graduate in 2026. Mr. Calbert resides in Charleston, SC, and recently made a gift to support CofC’s Alumni Association Fund.

Gracyn Drury joined Meridian Bioscience Inc. as an Inside Sales Representative in August. Ms. Drury resides in Ridgeland, SC, and recently made a generous gift to CofC’s Alumni Association Fund.

Kiki Gibson is a Leasing Agent with The Deal Company. Ms. Gibson resides in Houston.

Ella Harris joined the ICL Group as a Research and Development Associate in June. Ms. Harris resides in Charleston, SC, and recently made a gift to support CofC’s Alumni Association Fund.

Owen Jones joined Specialty Building Products as a Financial Analyst in June. Mr. Jones resides in Chamblee, GA.

Saylar McGuiness is the Co-Editor at The Scout Guide Delaware Beaches, a digital marketing publication that showcases coastal Delaware’s artists, entrepreneurs, and visionaries. Ms. McGuiness resides in New York City and recently made a gift to CofC’s Alumni Association Fund.

Grace Pomposello is a Physical Therapist Assistant with Rehabilitation Associates. Ms. Pomposello resides in Redding, CT, and recently made a gift to support CofC’s Alumni Association Fund.

Annie Thompson joined Greystar as a Communications Coordinator in August. Ms. Thompson resides in Mount Pleasant, SC, and recently made a generous gift to CofC’s Alumni Association Fund.

Jonah Wexler joined the University of Louisville Athletics Department as the Director of Video & Analytics for Louisville Men’s Basketball in April. While at the College, he served as Head Manager for three seasons under former Cougar Men’s Basketball Coach Pat Kelsey and was elevated to Coordinator of Analytics in his final season. Mr. Wexler resides in Clarksville, IN.
