1976
Nan Jones Banks recently had her first novel, Death Wish: Tales from Eternity, published by Liminal Books. Ms. Banks earned her MS in communications from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1979. She and her wife, Jolanta, reside in Asheville, NC. Ms. Banks recently made gifts in support of CofC’s Alumni Greek Life Scholarships Fund and the Karen Burrough Jones ’74 Alumni Scholarship Fund.
1984
Christopher Thornton is a Harbor Pilot with the Charleston Harbor Pilots Association. In June, the United States Coast Guard recognized Mr. Thornton with the Meritorious Public Service Award after he safely piloted a container ship that was experiencing a loss of engine control through the Cooper River. Mr. Thornton resides in Charleston, SC, and is a stalwart support of CofC’s Hissar Sailing Program Endowment Fund.

Zac Collins is the new Senior Vice President, Commercial Banking, at Penn Community Bank in Perkasie, PA. Mr. Collins earned his MBA with a concentration in finance from Vanderbilt University. He resides in Wayne, PA.

Blake Partridge joined HCM Unlocked as the Vice President of Managed Services, Payroll & Tax, in April. She earned her MBA from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2018. Ms. Partridge resides in Charlotte, NC, and is a stalwart supporter of CofC’s School of Business Dean’s Excellence Fund.

Brian Freese was sworn in as the Deputy Chief of Police for the Georgia College Department of Public Safety, located in Milledgeville, GA, in August.
Scott Moody and his family are partnering with the College’s Office of Student Wellness and Well-being (OSWW) to create the Lynn L. Moody Endowment for Mental Health & Suicide Prevention. The endowment—named in honor of Mr. Moody’s late wife, Lynn Luckey Moody ’93—funds OSWW’s Emotional Distress Prepared Certification course, among other programs and events. The Moody family resides in Ruffin, SC.

Amelia Koonce Generalis is the Chief People Officer of Opendoor. Ms. Generalis earned her MBA in human resources from Vanderbilt University in 1998. She resides in Redwood City, CA, and recently supported CofC’s Alumni Greek Life Scholarships Fund and Campus Preservation Fund.

Jivko Moutafov is the Co-founder and Head of Finance and Operations for Moneytryx, Inc. Mr. Moutafov earned his MBA in international business from the University of South Carolina in 1996. He resides in San Francisco with his wife, Galina.

Beth Hall Bryant is an Instructional Designer for GP Strategies and the Founder of Beth Bryant Consulting. Ms. Bryant earned her MEd in educational leadership and administration from Troy University in 2000. She and her husband, Paul, reside in Virginia Beach, VA.

Stuart Wheeless is an Administrative Officer for the Department of Defense Education Activity. He earned his MA in management and leadership from Webster University in 2009. Mr. Wheeless and his wife, Elly, reside in Sanford, NC.

BJ McGuire is the Vice President, Global Talent Acquisition and Global Mobility, at Procore Technologies. Mr. McGuire resides in Santa Clarita, CA, with his wife, Jennifer.
Mindy Brodsky Noce married Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) in August at a chapel in Mount Pleasant, SC. Ms. Noce is the Design & Renovations Manager at Atlantic Properties of the Lowcountry. She resides on Daniel Island, SC, with her three children.
Daniel Stamp is a Lieutenant with Chesterfield County Fire and EMS. He earned his graduate certificate in disaster science from the University of Richmond. Lt. Stamp resides in Moseley, VA.

Amy Cowman is a Patient Education Consultant at ClearChoice Dental Implant Centers. Ms. Cowman resides in Fort Mill, SC.
Olga McNally joined Optum as the Manager, Medical Clinical Operations, in July. Ms. McNally earned her MS in occupational therapy from Texas Woman’s University in 2003. She resides in Charleston, SC.
Michele Knaggs Reneau has been elected to serve as the Representative for Tennessee’s House District 27. Ms. Reneau earned her MPA from the University of South Carolina. She and her husband, Chris, reside in Signal Mountain, TN, with their five children.

Matt Igoe is the Founder and Owner of Afuera Coffee Co., a company by and for coffee and nature lovers. Mr. Igoe and his wife, Beatriz, reside in Cos Cob, CT, with their son, Finn.
Zach Trogdon (MPA) has been named the Director of Virginia’s Department of Rail and Public Transportation. Mr. Trogdon resides in Williamsburg, VA.

Andy Hurd has been promoted to Financial Specialist at WakeMed. Mr. Hurd and his wife, Heather, reside in Cary, NC.
Andy Steinhauser is the Director of Sponsorship & Business Development for the Los Angeles Auto Show + AutoMobility LA. Mr. Steinhauser resides in Culver City, CA.

Lynn Antoine Caldwell is a Human Resources Recruiter for Loudoun County Public Schools. Mr. Caldwell resides in Arlington, VA.
Corey Durant is the Vice President of Research at CoStar Group in Richmond, VA.
Beth Long Greenlee has been named the Head Coach of Pinewood Preparatory School’s Girls Basketball program. Ms. Greenlee is a High School Social Studies Teacher at the school. She resides in Summerville, SC, with her husband and two children.
Jason Loring is a new Partner and Co-Chair of Privacy on Jones Walker LLP’s Data Strategy and Artificial Intelligence team. Mr. Loring obtained his JD from the Wake Forest University School of Law in 2006. He and his wife, Julie, reside in Atlanta with their three children, Oliver, Eleanor, and Margaret.

Jen Fountain Baltzegar (MS ’10) joined Augusta University’s faculty as an Assistant Professor in August. Dr. Baltzegar’s lab will focus on researching rapid evolution in insects with human health consequences. She earned her PhD in genetics from North Carolina State University in 2020. She and her husband, David Baltzegar ’00, reside in Augusta, GA.
Tom McCarty has been named to Forbes’ 2024 list of Best-in-State Top Financial Security Professionals for the fourth consecutive year. Mr. McCarty has been a New York Life agent for 20 years and is a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. Mr. McCarty resides in Mount Pleasant, SC, with his wife, Beth, and their three children, Ava, Patrick, and Charlie. The McCarty family are generous and consistent supporters of the Charleston Athletic Fund and the CofC Baseball Fund.

Kelly Flaherty has been promoted to the Collections Information Specialist at the Princeton University Art Museum. Ms. Flaherty earned her MLIS and MS in the history of art and design from the Pratt Institute in 2012. She married David Banovetz in October, and the couple resides in Ewing, NJ.
Carolina Davila Jewett and her husband, Kevin, are the owners of Tínto y Crema and Tínto Café & Provisions. Based in downtown Charleston, SC, the locations offer guests gelato, coffee, wine, and more. The Jewetts reside in Mount Pleasant, SC.

Katharine Lowe Ames joined The Indigo Road Hospitality Group as its Chief Marketing Officer in July. Ms. Ames and her husband, Herbert, reside in Atlanta.
Miles Smith IV (MA ’08) is a History Professor at Hillsdale College. Dr. Smith earned his PhD in history from Texas Christian University in 2013. He resides in Hillsdale, MI.

Kati-Jane Hammet Childs joined the Appellate Court of Maryland as a Staff Attorney in July. Ms. Childs earned her MFA in creative writing from the University of Alabama in 2017 and her JD from Boston University School of Law in 2020. She and her husband, Ryan, reside in Baltimore, MD, with their son, Donovan.

Stacey Lathem Bailey is an Executive Leadership Coach and Strategic Planning Facilitator at The Intention Collective, a small business consulting agency based in Nashville, TN. She and her husband, Adam Bailey ’12, reside in Charleston, SC, with their children, Copeland and Carolyn. The Baileys are loyal supporters of the College, recently making a gift to the Charleston Athletic Fund.
Katie Nemecek Smith has been promoted to Partnerships Director at One80Place. Ms. Smith earned her MBA from The Citadel in 2010. She and her husband, Greg Smith ’09, reside on Johns Island, SC. The Smiths recently made gifts to support the CofC Fund.

Nick Rummell is an Associate Professor of History at Pellissippi State Community College. He earned his DLS in history and public health from the University of Memphis this month. Dr. Rummell and his wife, Nicole, reside in Crossville, TN, with their daughter, Persephone.
2010
Ryan Murray became the Managing Director of Greencastle Consulting in July. He served as an Infantry and Information Operations Officer in the United States Marine Corps prior to joining Greencastle Consulting in 2019. Mr. Murray resides in Mount Pleasant, SC.
Jesse Sandole is celebrating the 10th anniversary of 167 Raw Oyster Bar’s opening. He co-founded the restaurant in 2014 with Kyle Norton ’11 and Darren Harrison-Panes. Mr. Sandole resides in Charleston, SC.

Kendra Burwick is a Human Resources Generalist for Eagle Eye. She earned a dual MA in management and leadership and human resources management from Webster University in 2017. Ms. Burwick resides in Jacksonville, FL.
Kyle Norton is celebrating the 10th anniversary of 167 Raw Oyster Bar’s opening. He co-founded the restaurant in 2014 with Jesse Sandole ’10 and Darren Harrison-Panes. Mr. Norton resides in Charleston, SC.
Meghan McCormack Watson and Kip Watson ’11 welcomed a daughter, Bleakley, to the family in March. Ms. Watson is the Operations and Marketing Director for the College’s School of Education. She earned her MEd in higher education leadership from The Citadel in 2022. The Watson family resides in Charleston, SC, and the alumni couple recently made a gift to CofC’s School of Education Dean’s Excellence Fund.

Brooke King Neisler is a Dentist with the United State Navy. She earned her DMD in 2021 and her MS in biomedical sciences in 2015 , both from the Medical University of South Carolina. In July, Ms. Neisler received the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for meritorious service upon completion of her tour at Camp Lejeune. She and her husband, Cameron, celebrated the birth of their daughter, Zoey, in March. The family of three resides in Beaufort, SC.
2013
Wesley Lyon ’13 (MBA) and his wife, Katie Morgan Lyon ’14 (MTA), co-founded Allegiance Flag Supply in 2018 with fellow Graduate School alumnus Max Berry ’13 (MBA). The trio sells American flags that have been handsewn in the United States using locally sourced materials. The Lyon family resides in Charleston, SC, and are generous supporters of CofC’s School of Business MBA Scholarship Fund.

Emeline Thorpe Jones and her husband, Andy, welcomed their daughter, Louisa, to the family in May. Ms. Jones is an Outpatient Psychotherapist for Reclaim Counseling and Wellness. She obtained her MSW from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2021. She and her husband married in March 2023, and the couple resides in Wilmington, NC.
Ashlee Hardy Lang and her husband, Jay, welcomed their daughter, Mia, to the family in January. The couple married in 2021, and the family of three resides in Myrtle Beach, SC.
2015
Katie Babb joined the Ob Hospitalist Group as a Marketing Generalist in July. Ms. Babb resides in Easley, SC.
Kelli Little Delaney has joined the Chesterfield County School District as the new PE Teacher at Edwards Elementary School. Ms. Delaney resides in Chesterfield, SC, with her husband, Davis, and son, Sayer.
Juan Ignacio Maegli represented Guatemala at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, competing on its sailing team.
Daisy Sanchez completed the Memorial Healthcare System’s General Surgery Residency Program in June. Ms. Sanchez earned her MD from the Medical University of South Carolina. She will now join the University of Texas at San Antonio to train in plastic surgery.
Kathryn Vaughn joined the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services as a Management Analyst Fellow in June. Ms. Vaughn earned her MPP from Georgetown University in 2022. She and her husband, Gregory Mottla, reside in Washington, D.C.
2016
Canyon Barry represented the USA at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris as a member of the 3×3 Men’s Team. Mr. Barry played basketball for CofC’s Cougars from 2013-16 and for the University of Florida Gators while attending graduate school. He graduated summa cum laude with his MS in nuclear engineering in 2019. He is a System Engineer for L3Harris Technologies, Inc., and resides in Bradenton, FL.
Ana Brickowski has been promoted to Director of Convention Services at Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp. Ms. Brickowski resides in Nashville, TN.
Laurel Fay has been promoted to Manager of Preservation & Research at the Preservation Society of Charleston. Ms. Fay earned her MS in historic preservation and conservation from Tulane University in 2022. She resides in Charleston, SC.
Anna Greeley McFadden has been named to Automotive News’ “Forty Under 40” list for 2024. Ms. McFadden is the Director of Marketing Operations for Hendrick Automotive Group. She earned her MS in project management from The Citadel in 2018. Ms. McFadden and her husband, JP, reside in Rock Hill, SC.
Steele Strauss is a Real Estate Agent with Jon Underhill Real Estate. In July, Ms. Strauss was ranked by the Little Rock Soirée as one of the city’s top Real Estate Agents. Ms. Strauss resides in Little Rock, AR.

Enrique Arathoon represented El Salvador in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris as a member of its sailing team.
Kaylin Foard is the new Ticketing Manager on Resy’s Experiential Team with Swell Partners. Ms. Foard resides in Asheville, NC.
Joseph Fontana is a Large Institution Supervision Coordinating Committee Liquidity Program Operations Coordinator for the Federal Reserve Board of Governors. Mr. Fontana resides in Silver Spring, MD.
Andi McAfee married Mark Sikand in July, and the couple resides in Los Angeles.
Corrigan Tyrrell celebrated the birth of her daughter, Bobbie, in May. She married Brooks Idlet in October 2022 on Bald Head Island, NC. The couple resides in Oklahoma City.
2018
Dave Austin has earned his PhD in theoretical and mathematical physics from the University of Central (UCF). Two years ago, Dr. Austin earned his MS in condensed matter and material physics from UCF. He resides in Casselberry, FL.
Erin Day joined the Eastman Chemical Company in April as an Advanced Analytical Chemist. She earned her PhD in chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2023. Dr. Day resides in Johnson City, TN.
Kaitlyn Fox is a Critical Care Nurse at Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, SC. Ms. Fox resides in Conway, SC.
Megan Plumb Heneghan joined the Berkeley County School District as a Science Teacher in July. Ms. Heneghan and her husband, Colin, celebrated the birth of their daughter, Maeve, last August. The family resides in Summerville, SC.
Cameron Johnson is entering his second season as the Director of Player Personnel for Boston College’s Men’s Basketball program. Mr. Johnson was a four-year starter for the Cougars Men’s Basketball team, serving as team captain for three seasons.
Stefano Peschiera represented Peru in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris as a member of its sailing team and earned a Bronze Medal. Mr. Peschiera resides in Lima, Peru.
2019
Jermaine Blackmon, Jr. is entering his second season as the Video Coordinator for Boston College’s Men’s Basketball program. Mr. Blackmon played for the Cougars Men’s Basketball team during his junior and senior years at the College. He earned his MS in sports administration from Boston College in 2022.
Olivia Gartner is a new Sales Associate at Bennison Fabrics. Ms. Gartner resides in New York City.
Marquise Pointer and his wife, Kennedy Madison Pointer ’19, welcomed their son, Mikkel, to the family in July. The Pointer family resides in Summerville, SC. The couple recently made a gift to the Charleston Athletic Fund’s Volleyball Fund.

Tanner Crunelle (MFA ’24) has been accepted into Cornell University’s PhD program and will begin his studies this fall. Mr. Crunelle resides in Mount Pleasant, SC, and recently made gifts to CofC’s Honors College Dean’s Excellence Fund, Alumni Association Fund, and Women’s and Gender Studies Program Fund.
Sam Hutchisson is the new Club Director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Kentuckiana in Louisville, KY. Mr. Hutchisson is currently enrolled in the MPA program at Drake University with plans to graduate in December.
Chelsea Jacobs is the new Assistant Director for Access and Recruitment at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC.
Savannah King was promoted to Social Media and Community Manager with Zebra Partners in May. Ms. King resides in Washington, D.C.
Jillian Mastrofrancesco is a Case Manager at Connec-to-Talk, LLC. She is currently pursuing her MS in applied behavior analysis from Western Connecticut State University. Ms. Mastrofrancesco resides in Stratford, CT.
John Ryan Morris enrolled at Texas A&M University as an MBA candidate with plans to graduate in 2026. Mr. Morris resides in Fort Worth, TX.
Steffani Schwerdt is an Account Executive with Summer Somewhere Showroom. Ms. Schwerdt resides in Charleston, SC.
Samantha Sommers was promoted to Senior Account Executive at Edelman in July. Ms. Sommers resides in Atlanta.
Claire Zlotnicki is a certified Health and Wellness Coach with Ontrak Health. Ms. Zlotnicki is studying mental health counseling at Teachers College, Columbia University, with plans to graduate with her MEd in 2026. She resides in New York City.

Virginia Freilicher joined Norwegian Cruise Line as a Personal Cruise Consultant in July. Ms. Freilicher resides on Johns Island, SC.
Emma Geraghty has been promoted to Group Sales Manager at Burgeon Hotel Group. Ms. Geraghty resides in Los Angeles.
Patrick McCabe is a Security Operations Center Analyst for Cyber Guards in Memphis, TN.
2022
Mallory Cleary joined The Island Eye Local News in June as a Freelance Writer. Ms. Cleary resides in Charleston, SC.
Meriwether Galloway and her mother, Christy Daughtridge Galloway ’92, accomplished their goal of running a half marathon in all 50 states. The mother-daughter running duo set off on the challenge in 2016. Meriwether earned her MEd in elementary school counseling from The Citadel in May. She serves students in the Charleston County School District as a School Counselor and resides in Charleston, SC.
Chandler Peel joined the Berkeley County School District as a Kindergarten Teacher in July. He is currently pursuing his MEd in trauma-informed education from Columbia College with plans to graduate in 2025. Mr. Peel resides in Charleston, SC.
