Katie Crawford (MA) was awarded first place for the Thomas H. McDill Award from the North Carolina Poetry Society for her poem Litchfield Beach. Ms. Crawford’s second historical novel, The Miniaturist’s Assistant, is set in Charleston and will be published in May 2025 by Regal House Publishing. She earned her MFA in writing from the Vermont College of Fine Arts in 2014. Ms. Crawford and her husband, Stuart Dodson, reside in Brevard, NC, with their two daughters, Wylie and Willoday.

Jeremy Ekberg (MA) is an Assistant Professor at Fort Hays State University. Dr. Ekberg earned his PhD in English from the University of Alabama in 2011. He resides in Brunswick, GA.

Stephanie Felder was promoted by the Surgeon General’s Office to Captain O6. Captain Felder is the Lead Consultant, Military Social Work Curriculum, for the Council on Social Work Education and resides in Laurel, MD.

Jeanne Goins Hatcher is an Associate Professor of Otolaryngology (head and neck surgery) at the Emory University School of Medicine and The Emory Clinic. Dr. Hatcher earned her MD from Wake Forest University in 2008. She resides in Atlanta with her husband, Kyle D’Mellow. The Hatchers are generous supporters of the Alumni Fund.

Sarah Justice recently relocated to Columbia, SC, and is the Communications Director for the South Carolina Bar. Ms. Justice earned her MBA from the University of South Carolina in 2012.

Donna Longo Murphy is a Criminal Defense Attorney for Price Benowitz, LLP, and established her own law firm eight years ago. Ms. Murphy is the current Treasurer and Past President of the Arlington County Bar Association. She earned her JD from the Charleston School of Law in 2009. Victoria Frank Peluso is the Author of the newly released novel, My Magnolia Summer, published by Harper Collins. Ms. Peluso studied at the French Culinary Institute and graduated in 2010. She resides on Johns Island, SC, with her husband, Carmine, and their two children, Ted and Thea.

Elena Helminiak Busby is a Closed-Captioning Editor for Side Door Media. Ms. Busby and her husband, Shaun, welcomed their first child, Van Busby, in September 2021. The Busby family resides in Oceanside, CA.

Rose Christ is the Co-Chair, New York Practice, for Cozen O’Connor Public Strategies. Ms. Christ was included on the 2023 LGBTQ+ Power Players List by amNewYork, Gay City News, and Politics NY. She resides in Elmsford, NY.

Jamie Edmonds works at Arizona State University as the Director of the Critical Languages Institute, the Associate Director of the Melikian Center for Russian, Eurasian, and Eastern European Studies, and is a Clinical Assistant Professor of religious studies. Dr. Edmonds earned his MA in religious studies from the University of California, Riverside, in 2012 and earned his PhD in the anthropology of religion from Arizona State University in 2021. He resides in Phoenix, AZ, with his wife, Katelyn. The Edmonds are continued supporters of the Religious Studies Program.

Kim Youngblood Overton is a Family Physician for Peacehealth Southwest. Dr. Overton earned her MD from the University of South Carolina, Greenville, in 2017. She and her husband, John Overton ’09, reside in Vancouver, WA, with their two sons, Theodore and Emerson.

Steven Holshouser is the Director of Business Development for Kiytaec. Dr. Holshouser earned his PhD in biochemistry and drug discovery from the Medical University of North Carolina in 2018. He married his wife, Sarah, in May 2022. The couple resides in Brevard, NC.

Garrett Campbell (MED ’14) is a Teacher and Head Coach of the boys’ varsity basketball team at Philip Simmons High School. Mr. Campbell’s wife, Caroline Carnahan Campbell ’13, is a Teacher at the Whitmore School. The couple resides in Hanahan, SC, with their two sons, Woods and Adam. Emily Sorge married Benton Henderson in July. Ms. Sorge earned her JD from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, in 2019 and is now practicing as an attorney. She earned her MFA in creative writing from North Carolina State University in 2019. The couple resides in Raleigh, NC.

Kelcey Davis is the new Marketing Specialist for Abode Communities and resides in Marina Del Ray, CA.

Colleen Etman is studying English language and literature at the University of South Carolina (USC) with plans to graduate with her PhD in 2024. Ms. Etman received a Bilinski Fellowship to complete her dissertation work at USC and taught a themed English 101 section in Star Wars as literature. She resides in Columbia, SC.

Ross Baker retired from the U.S. Navy as a dental officer in June and is now a Dentist for Orchard Lake Dentistry. Dr. Baker earned his DDS from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2018. He resides in Charlotte, NC, with his spouse, Vincent Giannandrea ’14.

Taylor Baxley Korizon is a Provider Client Access Coordinator for Health Information Associates, Inc. Ms. Korizon married Michael Korizon in October 2019. The couple resides in Goose Creek, SC. The Korizons are continued supporters of the Alumni Association Fund.

Kimberly Holliday Teague and her husband, Matthew, welcomed their second daughter in October 2022. Catherine Ann joins older sister Charlotte Alice. The Teague family resides in Aiken, SC.

Michael Chapman is the Senior UX Researcher for Fidelity. Mr. Chapman earned his MA in anthropology from North Carolina State University in 2017. Mr. Chapman resides in Durham, NC, with his spouse, Nathan Sperry.

Fran Miller Knudsen (MBA ’18) is the Owner of blūm, a coffee shop with locations in both Charleston and Columbia, SC. Ms. Knudsen has recently relocated to Charleston, SC, with her husband, Spencer. The Knudsens have recently given to the Campus Preservation Fund.

Lauren Halter Koch is a Registered Nurse at the Medical University of South Carolina. Ms. Koch and her husband, Jacob, just welcomed their first child, Mia Evelyn Koch, in June. The Koch family resides in Summerville, SC.

Laura Taylor married Eric Walsh in March 2023. Ms. Taylor is the Grants and Contracts Manager for the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where she earned her MPP in public policy in 2022. The couple resides in Baltimore, MD.

Mattie Hucks is a Pharmacist and has joined a co-doctoral fellowship with neuropsychiatric biotechnology company Biogen, which creates package inserts with information for drugs. Ms. Hucks recently graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina. She resides in Boston, MA.

Jamie Lief is a Pelvic Floor Occupational Therapist at Spear Physical and Occupational Therapy. Ms. Lief earned her MSOT in occupational therapy from Columbia University in 2022 and is now studying at Boston University with plans to graduate with her doctoral degree in 2024. She resides in New York City.

Emma Bruno has been accepted into the Master of Professional Studies in emergency and disaster management at Georgetown University and resides in Charleston, SC. Ms. Bruno has recently given to the Campus Preservation Fund.

Katie Fleischman is the Access and Instruction Specialist for the Addlestone Library at the College. Ms. Fleishman is studying library and information science at the University of South Carolina with plans to graduate with her MLIS in 2024.

Katie Hopewell is studying public policy and human development at Maastricht University with plans to graduate in August. Ms. Hopewell is a Student Ambassador for the Communications Office at the university and recently interviewed the Swiss Ambassador to the Netherlands.
