Sonya Houston is the Executive Producer at Court TV. Prior to joining Court TV in 2019, Ms. Houston worked for CNN for nearly 24 years. She resides in Atlanta with her wife, Elizabeth Stevens.

1993

Peter Beirne is the Lead Trial Attorney for The Paul Law Firm in Westlake Village, CA. Mr. Beirne’s legal practice now centers on representing people with asbestos injuries. In 2019, he had two of the top 10 personal injury verdicts in the state of California. Mr. Beirne conducted one of the first fully remote civil trials in 2020 due to the pandemic. He resides in Santa Clarita, CA, and has two sons. Mr. Beirne has generously supported the CofC School of Sciences and Mathematics Dean’s Excellence Fund and the CofC Fund.

Aimee Chazal McMillin recently joined Phoenix, AZ, based BuzzTheory, a leading communications consultancy in the tech channel, as Content and Communications Director. Ms. McMillin earned her MA in journalism from Memphis University in 1995. She resides in Memphis, TN, with her husband, Zack, and their two children, Ian and Eleanor. Ms. McMillin provides philanthropic support to the CofC Fund and the Lynn L. Moody Fund for Mental Health and Suicide Awareness.

Gene Rinehart is the Director of Product Excellence for Athem, Inc. Mr. Rinehart earned his MGA from MUSC in 1996. He resides in Atlanta.

1995

Allen Hutto is the CEO of the Building Industry Association (BIA) of Central South Carolina. Prior to joining the BIA, Mr. Hutto served as the Director of Governmental Affairs for the SC Department of Transportation. He earned both his JD and master’s of human resources from the University of South Carolina. Mr. Hutto resides in Lexington, SC, with his wife, Alicia, and their daughter, Laura.

Tami White Mosley is the Director of Grantmakers for Southern Progress in Atlanta. Ms. Mosley married her husband, Alonzo, in April 2015, and the couple resides in Ellenwood, GA.

1999

Molly Bennett McDonald spent nearly 12 years in the special events industry and has recently started a new job as Office Manager for Rerun Restaurants, which manages Leon’s Oyster Shop, Little Jack’s Tavern, and Melfi’s. Ms. McDonald resides in Charleston, SC, with her husband, Jason.

Leslie Whaley Hall has been promoted to RN Managed Care Coordinator Team Lead at Blue Cross Blue Shield of SC. Ms. Hall has also launched her photography business which features nature of the Lowcountry. She resides in Columbia, SC, with her husband, Adam, and their son, Connor.

2004

Jabre Thornton is a Software Engineer Manager for CapTech Consulting. He and his wife, Kelly, welcomed their first son, Zachary, in December. The Thornton family resides in Charlotte, NC.

Melea Gibbons Veith is a Senior Consultant for eSkillz Corporation in Washington, D.C. Ms. Melea and her husband, Joe, reside in Silver Spring, MD, with their three children, Joey, Caroline, and Samuel.

2005

Raylene Ferguson is a Foreign Service Officer for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of The Bahamas. Ms. Ferguson was the Vice Consul and Head of Chancery at The Embassy of The Bahamas in Havana, the Republic of Cuba, from June 2018 to December 2019. She resides in Nassau, Bahamas.

2006

Cheryl Deas Hollis has been promoted to Chief Program Officer at Wings for Kids in Charleston, SC. Ms. Hollis started her career with the company in 2010 as a Program Coordinator.

2007

Pamela Gregory Colley is the Regional Government Affairs Manager for Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories in Charlotte, NC. Ms. Colley welcomed daughter Clara Stacy Colley in December 2020.

Jane Lucas is the Clinic Director for Vardan Physiotherapy Clinic, based in New Delhi, India. Dr. Lucas earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from MUSC in 2013 and completed a Functional Manual Therapy Residency through the Institute of Physical Art in 2015. She completed her Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapist Fellowship at the American Academy in 2021. Dr. Lucas married Stefan Vincent in December 2018, and they currently reside in Lawton, OK.

2008

David Edwards is the Chief of Staff for MyEyeDr in Raleigh, NC. Mr. Edwards earned his MS in accounting from the University of North Carolina, Wilmington, in 2010.

Joshua Wilkerson-Bienick works for the United States Air Force. Mr. Wilkerson-Bienick earned his master of engineering in industrial engineering from Clemson University in 2017. He and his wife, Charity, reside in New Carlisle, OH, with their four children.

2009

Anjuri Jain has relocated to Oakland, CA, where she has been promoted to Senior Finance Manager of Walmart, Inc. Ms. Jain earned her MBA from Northeastern University in 2020. She has been a stalwart supporter of the College, donating to the CofC Fund and the Addlestone Library Dean’s Excellence Fund.

2011

Evan McDonald Johnson and her husband, Dr. Jermaine Johnson ’09, welcomed their fourth child, Kari Grace John. Kari joins older siblings Jermaine Jr., Khloe, and Kobe. The Johnson family resides in Columbia, SC. Dr. Johnson is a member of the Charleston Athletic Fund, formerly known as the Cougar Club.

Jenna-Lyn Johnson joined Lexington Medical Heart and Vascular Center in September. Dr. Johnson earned her medical degree from MUSC, completed her residency at Virginia Commonwealth University, and then completed a fellowship in cardiovascular diseases at the University of Tennessee. She is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association, the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, and Women Cardiology. Dr. Johnson resides in Columbia, SC.

Jesse Snider is an Application Security Engineer for TJX Companies. He resides in Charleston, SC, with his wife, Amy, and their two children, Brighton and Elle.

2013

Jamie Wright Yates is completing her family medicine residency at the Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton, NC. Dr. Yates earned her medical degree from MUSC.

2014

Emmie McQuown Mai is the Founder and Counselor of New Morning Counseling, LLC, in Charleston, SC. Ms. Mai earned her MA in clinical counseling psychology from The Citadel in 2021. She and her husband, Michael Mai ’13, welcomed their first daughter, Rosa Mariel Mai, in January 2020. The Mai family generously donates to the School of Science and Mathematics Dean’s Excellence Fund and the Thompson Johnson Scholarship for Teacher Education.

Katie Kirchoff is the Senior Database Administrator and Manager, Data Delivery Services Team, at the Biomedical Informatics Center at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). In 2016, Ms. Kirchoff earned her MS in health informatics from MUSC. She resides in Mount Pleasant, SC.

2016

Olivia Ghiz is a Distributed Organizing Manager for NextGen America, where she helps mobilize young people to vote in crucial elections. Ms. Ghiz earned her MA in teaching English as a second or foreign language from Universidad de Salamanca and her MEd in Spanish language and culture from James Madison University in 2019. She resides in the Washington, D.C. area.

Carolyna Ramirez is the Ticketing and Patron Services Manager for the College’s Sottile Theatre and resides in Charleston, SC.

Katie Kellahan Wheeler has been hired as the new Main Street Director of Kingstree, SC. Ms. Wheeler resides in the town with her husband, Bill, and their two children, Kelley and Bo.

2017

Katie Ellis and her husband, Robert, reside in Mount Pleasant, SC, with their two children, Emma and Benjamin. Ms. Ellis is a Water Resources Designer II for McCormick Taylor.

Izzy Sandoval is the Project Coordinator for Upstage in San Francisco. Ms. Sandoval earned her master’s degree in graphic design from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in 2019. She resides in Dublin, CA.

Rachel Canady Santos was promoted from Marketing and Sales Coordinator to Marketing Manager at the Winkler Group based in Mount Pleasant, SC. Ms. Santos began her first term as Communications Chair for the Association of Fundraising Professionals SC Lowcountry Chapter. She resides in Ladson, SC, with her husband, Pedro.

2018

Austin Hopcia is a Researcher for SAP, one of the world’s leading producers of software for business management. In 2020, Mr. Hopcia earned his MBA from The Citadel. He resides in Nashville, TN. He has been a loyal member of the Charleston Athletic Fund, formerly known as the Cougar Club.

Allie Watters is a Regional Political Director for the House Majority PAC and resides in Washington, D.C. Ms. Watters is a generous donor to the CofC Fund.

2019

Chynna Chan works in Integrated Marketing for the Heart Media Production Group. Ms. Chan produced and directed a film and portrait exhibition, Pearls, that launched in Julia Deckman Studio in March for Women’s History Month. She resides in Charleston, SC.

Jack Dalessio earned his MS in accounting from the London School of Economics in 2021. Mr. Dalessio is a Research and Development Tax Consultant for Moss Adams and resides in Denver, CO.

Sarah English is a Research Coordinator at the Medical University of South Carolina and she resides in Charleston, SC. Ms. English supports scholarships for the College by donating to the CofC Fund.

Dana Marks married Douglas Halpert in October 2021. Ms. Marks is a Preservation Officer for the Maryland Historical Trust. The couple resides in Elkridge, MD.

Catie Hutchison is the Program Director for the Palmetto Conservation Corps, where she supervises work on the Palmetto Trail, a mountains-to-sea hiking and mountain biking trail. Ms. Hutchison resides in Columbia, SC.

Keelin McDermott is an E-Commerce Manager for MARYSIA and resides in Mount Pleasant, SC.

2020

Dylan Cooper is in his third year of law school at the Charleston School of Law with plans to graduate with his JD in December. Mr. Cooper also works for Indigo Road Hospitality Group in Charleston, SC. He is a generous donor to the Alumni Fund, providing scholarships for the College.

Lauren Fowler is a First Grade Teacher for Lexington County School District Two and resides in Columbia, SC. Ms. Fowler supports the CofC Fund.

Katie Lounsbury earned her MS in accountancy in May 2021 from Tulane University. Ms. Lounsbury is a member of the Business Consulting, Risk Advisory, Staff for Ernst & Young, LLP, and resides in New York City. She is a loyal donor to the CofC Sailing Program.

Kam Midkiff is an Epidemiologist for the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. Ms. Midkiff is currently studying global public health at New York University with plans to graduate with her MPH in December. She resides in New York City.

Kelsey Patrick earned her MS in accounting from Maryville University in 2021 and is now employed with Ernst & Young in New York City. Ms. Patrick generously donates to the Alumni Fund, supporting scholarships to the College.

Macy Scarborough is a Ticket Office Agent for the Charleston Gaillard Center. Ms. Scarborough is also a Kitchen Expo at Hall’s Chophouse in Charleston, SC. As a student, she supported CofC’s Swipe Away Student Hunger campaigns and as an alumna she has donated to the Alumni Fund, supporting scholarships at the College.

George McManus is an Operations Analyst for Huguenot Fuels and resides in Charleston, SC. Mr. McManus made a recent gift to the Alumni Fund.

Shykeria King is an Administrative Assistant for Charleston ENT & Allergy and resides in Charleston, SC. Ms. King generously donated to CofC’s Swipe Away Student Hunger campaigns and as an alumna has donated to the Alumni Fund, supporting scholarships at the College.

Paulina Reynolds is an In-House Marketing Representative for Migliori, LLC, and resides in Mount Pleasant, SC.
