Alumni Association Board Overnight Accommodation Policy

Board members living outside the Charleston metropolitan area who require overnight accommodations for an Alumni Association board meeting must first confirm participation in the meeting and all associated events. 

One complimentary room night (Thursday) will be provided to those who live outside the Charleston Metropolitan area and up to 350 miles from campus; up to two complimentary room nights (Thursday and Friday) will be provided for those who live more than 350 miles from campus. If board members wish to stay for additional evenings, it must be at their own expense.

Please Note: Any board member for whom the Alumni Association is providing housing is expected to attend all meetings, receptions, and dinners on Thursday and Friday in their entirety. All reservations for the September 2026 meeting will be made at the Francis Marion Hotel at 387 King St, Charleston, SC 29403. Please reference the Accommodation Policy for any questions you may have.

*Requests received after the August 5 deadline may not be accommodated.

Thursday, September 10:
11:30 am – Executive Committee Meeting (for ExCom members only)
2 pm – New Board Member Orientation (for New Board Members only)
3 pm – All Board Member Welcome and Overview
5-8 pm – All Board Reception and Kick-Off Dinner (Board Members only)

Friday, September 11
8:30 am – Breakfast
9 am – Meeting begins promptly
12:30 pm – Lunch and Presentation
1:30 – 5:30 pm – Meetings
5:30-6:30 pm – Reception and Closing Thoughts
6:30 pm – Meeting ends/dinner on your own
