1973

Jim Carter is a retired teacher from Summerville High School in Summerville, SC. Mr. Carter taught Honors English and A.P Literature. He was published in periodicals Poetry South and Labyrinthine Passages. Mr. Carter also contributed to the anthology Poetry for Ukraine.

1978

Charles Wayne Osborne recently retired from Novo Nordisk Pharmaceuticals as their Executive Endocrine Diabetes Care Specialist. He resides in Mount Pleasant, SC, with his wife, Christine Stiepel Osborne ’80. Mr. Osborne has been a generous donor to the Cougar Club.

1980

Wayne Mutch recently retired in June after a 40-year career as a Cardiothoracic Surgical Physician Assistant. Mr. Mutch resides in Greenwood, SC, with his wife, Tenia. The couple has two children and one granddaughter, Abby.

Christine Stiepel Osborne is retired from Wonder Works Toy Stores. Ms. Osborne founded the renowned toy store chain in the Charleston area in 1990. The Mount Pleasant Store is now owned by a CofC graduate, Elizabeth Royall Darby ’09. Ms. Osborne has generously given to the Cougar Club.

1984

Walter Stewart Carter recently retired from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Dr. Carter received the International Freddie Award for excellence in developing public relations materials used on an international basis. Although retired, he continues to be a Computer Instructor at Midlands Technical College, and he became an ordained minister. Dr. Carter currently resides in Daniel Island, SC, and has two daughters.

1985

Joel Williams recently retired and resides in North Carolina with his wife, Megan Clode. Mr. Williams has generously donated to the School of Sciences & Mathematics and the Chemistry Department Fund.

Deven Hull is a Senior Vice President, Wealth Advisor, for UBS Financial Services, USA Wealth Management. He currently resides in League City, TX.

1993

Anne Cocke Caraway currently resides in Memphis, TN, and works for The Marston Group, PLC. Ms. Caraway is a loyal donor to the College, giving to Alumni Greek Life Scholarships, the CofC Fund, and the English Department most recently.

Rhonda Strickland Edwards is an accomplished young adult author. Ms. Edwards is a 5th grade ELA teacher, National Board-Certified Middle Child Generalist, and an Adjunct English Professor at Trident Tech. She resides in Cottageville, SC.

Alisa Chessler ’95 is the new Director of Development of Laniado Hospital in Florida. Ms. Chessler earned her MS from Clemson University in 1998. She resides in Palm Beach, FL.

Ray Berrouët is the new Business Development Account Manager for African Bush Camps and resides in Charleston, SC.

Micah Wallet is a manager at Harlou, Inc., in Washington, D.C. Mr. Wallet currently resides in Alexandria, VA.

Katie Leonard recently opened her own business, North Bar, as a partner in New York City. The bar is a women-run and -owned business.

2007

Kati-Jane Hammet Childs is an Assistant Public Defender in Maryland. Ms. Childs earned her MFA in creative writing from the University of Alabama in 2017 and her JD from the Boston University School of Law in 2020. She resides in Baltimore with her husband, Ryan, and their son, Donovan.

Lisa Blasco Zobel and her husband, Travis, welcomed their fourth child, Charlie Waters Zobel in October. The Zobel family resides in Austin, TX.

Amanda Cartmell Works is a Physician Assistant for Novant Health in Charlotte, NC. She married Donald Works IV in September 2021.

2010

Matthew Irwin is the Senior Development Manager at Messer Construction Company. Mr. Irwin attended Clemson University for his undergraduate degree. He is a Board Member of the SC Children’s Theatre and resides in Greenville, SC.

2011

Jessica Mitsch Homes is a Co-Founder and CEO of Momentum. Ms. Homes resides in Raleigh, NC, and recently donated to the Religious Studies Program at CofC.

Samantha Brabham Marsh is the owner of Noel Taylor Agency Financial Services and Gal Revival. Ms. Marsh resides in Asheville, NC.

Andrea Jackson Brady is an HR Generalist for LS3P. Ms. Brady is studying human resource management at Stony Brook University with plans to graduate with her MS in December. She and her husband, Mat, currently reside in Hanahan, SC.

Kathryn Higgs Johnson is a Veterinary Nurse for Charleston Veterinary Referral Center. Ms. Johnson has recently given to the Alumni Association Fund.

Nina Ita is a Creative Director for A+E Digital Printing. Ms. Ita has worked as a graphic designer for 10 years. Recently, she was the recipient of the 2022 Charleston American Marketing Association Spark! Award for Best Collateral Design. She received runner-up for the second piece of collateral submitted in the same category. Ms. Ita resides in Goose Creek, SC.

Katie McCoy is an Associate Director of Philanthropy for Southeastern Guide Dogs and resides in Sarasota, FL.

Alex Pappas Komar is an Annual Giving Officer for the University of Alaska Anchorage. Ms. Komar has recently donated to CofC’s Hospitality and Tourism Management Fund and the School of Business.

2014

Erica Arbetter recently presented at the White House on behalf of Google. Ms. Arbetter is a Civics Outreach Manager at Google and resides in Washington, D.C.

Jocelyn Moratzka Miller married Zachary Miller in October. Ms. Miller is a Coordinator, Education and Research, for the International Sign Association. The couple resides in Arlington, VA. Ms. Miller has donated to support CofC’s School of the Arts and Hispanic Studies.

Chris Taylor and his wife, Maylin Hill Taylor ’14, welcomed their first son, Miles Christopher Taylor, into their lives in March. Mr. Taylor is a JavaScript Developer for Zoic Labs in California. The Taylor family resides in Anchorage, AK.

Gabriela Tena is the Owner/CEO of La Gab Style and resides in Los Angeles. She recently donated to the Alumni Association Fund.

Cassie Lehmann has been promoted to Associate Director at Wavemaker in New York City.

Leanne Sullivan resides in North Charleston, SC, and works for PURE Insurance. Ms. Sullivan recently gave to the Alumni Association Fund.

Hamilton Vereen is a Chef and earned a spot in a national seafood competition in early August. Mr. Vereen resides in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Joanna Walker Fink is an Epidemiologist for the Gallatin City County Health Department. Ms. Fink married Sam Fink ’17 in August and earned her M.S. in Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in September. The couple resides in Manhattan, MT.

Kirk McSwain is an Assistant City Clerk for Boards and Commissions for the City of Charlotte in North Carolina. Mr. McSwain earned his MLA in political and civic engagement in 2020 from Winthrop University.

Jazz Campbell is a Paralegal for Steve Davis Law Firm in Mocks Corner, SC.

Eve Dippo has been promoted to an Anti-Money Laundering Analyst at Barclays and resides in Wilmington, DE.

Patrick Owens is a System and Network Administrator for the University of South Carolina and resides in Columbia, SC.

Caroline Bradley is a Hydrographic Surveyor at eTrac, a Woolpert Company. Ms. Bradley resides in Charleston, SC.

Sydney Lauren Jaicks is the new Annual Fund Program Manager for Roper St. Francis Healthcare in Charleston, SC.

Meredith Gittings Neeley married Tucker Neeley in June and the couple resides in Tennessee. Ms. Neeley has recently given to the Alumni Association Fund.

Will Freeman is studying law at the John Marshall Law School and expects to graduate with his JD in 2023. He resides in Atlanta.

Elizabeth Graiser is the Operations Manager of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Graiser was formerly with the Columbus Symphony in Ohio. She resides in Alpharetta, GA. Ms. Graiser has donated to the Alumni Fund and Music Department Fund.

Randi Smith is the new Library Assistant at Charlotte Mecklenburg Library in North Carolina.

Gina Tamburri is a Real Estate Agent at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices and resides in Ocean City, NJ.

Charlotte Winckler joined Justin O’Toole Lucey, P.A., as an Attorney. Ms. Winckler earned her JD from the Charleston School of Law in 2022. She resides in Charleston, SC.

2019

Katie Crane Hall married MyDrick Hall ’19 in October. Ms. Hall is studying social work at the University of South Carolina and expects to graduate in May. The couple resides in Central, SC.

Jessica Mack is a Producer and Content Creator at Ebony Xscape Productions. Ms. Mack is also the author of an Afrofuturistic fantasy novel series, Guardians of Masks and Memory, which was released in September 2021. As an author, she focuses on increasing the presence of POC narratives online, and she focuses on creating her own stories via written works, videos, and video games. Ms. Mack has recently donated to the Alumni Association Fund.

2020

Sarah Kingsley is a Registered Behavior Technician, and she resides in Greer, SC. Ms. Kingsley recently donated to the Alumni Fund to support scholarships at the College.

Lily Metcalfe is the new Senior Specialist, Distribution Vehicle Lifecycle, at Mazda North American Operations in Boston. Ms. Metcalfe has recently given to the Alumni Association Fund.

Rachel Biggs is studying biomedical science at the Medical University of South Carolina and expects to graduate with her PhD in 2025. Ms. Biggs resides in Mount Pleasant, SC.

Ben Kanter has been promoted to Account Executive at GoCanvas and resides in Washington, D.C. Mr. Kanter has recently given to the Alumni Association Fund.

Arianna Messier is an Account Manager for Motivated Marketing and resides in Bedford, VA. Ms. Messier has recently given in support of the Alumni Association Fund.

Thomas Cannon is a Data Scientist for Taiga Data. Mr. Cannon resides in Austin, TX.

Cam Lacey is a Registered Nurse at New York Presbyterian Hospital. Ms. Lacey earned her MS in nursing from Columbia University School of Nursing in 2021. She is now working towards her DNP in nurse midwifery and is expected to graduate in 2023. Ms. Lacey resides in Montrose, NY. She has recently donated to the Alumni Association Fund.

Hampton Slagle recently helped launch the Hines PRIDE Network, an employee resource group focused on creating a sense of belonging and inclusion within the global organization for members of the LGBTQ+ community. Mr. Slagle resides in Atlanta.

Yarden Shuminer has been promoted to Travel Advisor at Flora Travel in New York City.

Whitley Taylor has been promoted to Project Manager at 300Brand and resides in Washington, D.C. She has recently given to the Martin Center of Mentorship in Communication Endowed Fund.

Kristina Wasserman is studying social work at Washington University in St. Louis with plans to graduate with her MSW in 2023. Ms. Wasserman resides in Westport, CT.

Clare Clever is a Software Engineer for Leidos. Mr. Clever married Janneke Clever ’21 in September and the couple resides in Gaithersburg, MD.
